Greater Noida: GNIDA seals 11 unsold flats in MSX Alpha Homes over Rs 18 Crore dues

The builder, officials said, had not provided basic facilities to 160 families residing in the society and got registries of the flats done. There are 187 flats in the residential society, of which 11 are unsold.

NOIDA: Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority has sealed 11 unsold flats at MSX Alpha Homes in Alpha 1 over non-payment of Rs 18 crore dues. The action, officials said, was initiated after the builder, MSX Realtors failed to respond to the authority’s notices. The builder, officials said, had not provided basic facilities to 160 families residing in the society and got registries of the flats done.

There are 187 flats in the residential society, of which 11 are unsold. Due to irregularities by the builder, so far about 60 to 70 flat owners have been able to get their units registered. “Residents of MSX Alpha Homes had submitted complaints about the irregularities in the society to the Authority’s chief executive officer after which 11 unsold units were sealed. We are also surveying other societies for unsold flats, especially where builders have not cleared dues,” a GNIDA official said.

According to the official, there are many such builders in the Greater Noida Authority area who were not depositing the dues of the authority, as a result of which the registry of several flat buyers was stuck. “We are seeking information from buyers to inform us about unsold flats so that action can be taken against the builders to clear the way for the registry of the buyers,” the official added.

Meanwhile, residents of MSX Alpha Homes told TOI that on January 20, a GNIDA team had surveyed the society’s unsold flats. “Officials have told us that if the builder does not reply to its notice after the flats are sealed, the 11 unsold units will be auctioned off,” a resident said. The MSX Realtors did not respond to repeated calls from TOI.
